Mathematics is taught in an exciting and wide ranging way, through practical, oral and written activities.  An emphasis is placed upon mental maths and the development of children’s calculation strategies and rapid recall skills.

We follow a Mathematics Scheme called Abacus Online and we use other resources, to support our teaching.

The interactive whiteboards in both classes has enhanced the teaching of mathematics with exciting lesson content and interactive games and activities.

Children in Key Stage 2 have an hour of mathematics teaching each day.  Children in Key Stage 1 have a session of about 45 minutes per day.  Parents are asked to help the children learn their number bonds and times tables and some optional maths homework may be sent home.
