by Barbara Lomas Dear Parents and Carers I thought I should give you a run down on the rest of the term, as we have so many things happening, so here goes: Friday 18th June – School PhotosThird attempt!!! Please can children who swim on Fridays, come into school in the appropriate uniform. Saturday 19th June – Summer FayrePlease come and have some fun!! If you haven’t brought your raffle tickets or donations into school, please ensure that these are received at school by Friday. Tuesday 22nd June – Theatre VisitThe children will be watching a performance of Jungle Bungle in school. Thursday 24th June – School TripsClass 1 will be going to the Black Country Museum. Classes 2 and 3 to Whipsnade Zoo. Please make sure that all permission slips and money are brought into school ASAP. Saturday 26th June – Pre-School Bike RidePlease support this fund raising event by sponsoring the children. Week beginning 28th June – National School Sports WeekDuring this week, the children will receive tennis coaching, street dancing lessons and cheer leading sessions, along with class physical education sessions. Week beginning 5th July – Book WeekPlease come along and buy some holiday reading material. The book shop will be open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, after school. If children bring in money to make purchases independently, please ensure that it is in a named purse or envelope. Bus children will be able to shop before going on the bus. Thursday 8th July and Monday 12th JulyMr Kevin Marriott (the teacher joining school in September) will be visiting for both days. Monday 12th July – Going up DayCampion students will spend the day at Campion and all year groups will move up for the day. Our new Reception group will join us for the morning. Tuesday 13th July – Change for Life Magic ShowA magic show with a difference! Teaching us how to live healthier lives. Friday 16th July – Sports Day (from 10.30am)We have had to change the date for this due to our numerous commitments during sports week. Sorry for the inconvenience. We hope to see you cheering us on! Monday 19th July – Silverstone Presentation EveningThis is for Years 5 and 6 pupils. Those who are involved, will have already received their letter regarding this event. Monday 19th July – Dress rehearsal for our production of Wind in the WillowsThe performance will take place on Wednesday 21st July at 2.00pm. UniformPlease find attached a school uniform order form. If you have an order, please ensure that this is brought into school by no later than Thursday 24th June. Mrs Abrams - Our New Head TeacherMrs Jan Abrams, our new Head Teacher from September, will be visiting school on Wednesday 14th July to meet with staff and she will be around after school, to meet parents. Cycle Training Course - Year 6During the last weeks of term, Year 6 will also be doing their cycle training course. Mrs MastersUnfortunately, Mrs Masters will not be with us for the next few weeks. Having visited her doctor on the 10th June, she has been signed off from work for one month. We hope to see her return after the 10th July. Supply teachers and present school staff will be covering her commitments. Year 6 children will be doing individual topics, as is traditional, at this end of term, and Year 5 will continue working on their curriculum objectives, as set. Kind regards,
