PANCAKE DAY

Thank you very much for your support on Pancake Day, it was a lovely occasion and one that I hope will become an annual event.  It made the local press and you may have also seen a lovely letter in the paper from a Harlestone Parent congratulating us on the day.

RED NOSE DAY

The children had great fun on Red Nose day wearing their red and fantastic masks.

Many children also ‘did something funny for money’ and raised extra funds.

We were delighted that we raised well over £100.

MONSTER MODELS

Tying in with the community ‘Litter Pick’ we did some work on litter and recycling culminating in some fabulous Monster models made out of recycled materials (including socks!) which were later judged by Jane Mahood and prizes given out for the best model in each class.  Well done to Jemima, Gwyneth and Evie.

EASTER CELEBRATIONS

As I write we are really looking forward to our Easter Assembly.

The children and staff have worked very hard to produce what I hope will be a lovely service.

Festivities will continue through the week and the children will be having an Easter Egg Hunt on Friday.

E-SAFETY MEETING

A very small number of parents joined staff and governors for a very informative if rather scary meeting about the safety of our children on the internet at home. This is a serious issue and several hundred children in Northamptonshire some as young as 5 or 6 have been in a position where have been in danger of serious harm.

We will be repeating this meeting next year but in the meantime I would like to draw your attention to http://www.thinkuknow.co.uk as a very useful site for you and your child.

ROYAL WEDDING

We will be celebrating the Royal Wedding in school on Thursday 28th April with a ‘wedding’ in the morning and a street party in the afternoon.

We would ask for your support in providing the food for this event, details have been sent out in a separate letter.

Don’t forget that the village are holding Royal Wedding Celebrations at 3.00pm on the Friday on the field or in school if wet.

THE BIG ROAD SAFETY DAY

Plans are well underway for our next joint activity which is our Road Safety Day to be held at Harlestone on 27th May.

Mr Marriot, Mrs Fagen and the JRSO’s from both schools have been working very hard to provide activities for children and adults on this day including the Seat belt Sled, drink drive workshops, hazard awareness tests, Bikeability (bring your bikes for free checks), and many more.  Please put the date in the diary, further details will follow in May’s newsletter.

AND FINALLY…

May I thank you for another successful term and wish you and your families a very Happy Easter and a restful and peaceful holiday.
