Music

We provide the children with rich, stimulating musical experiences to encourage their appreciation of the subject.

We have a varied curriculum to include singing, percussion, composition and listening activities. The children also have the opportunity to learn how to read music, understand pitch, rhythm, dynamics and composition.

There is an opportunity for all children to learn to play the recorder. In addition, peripatetic teachers offer stringed and brass instrument lessons to pupils who have demonstrated the necessary potential.

In addition, the children take part in many festivals, carol services and concerts.

‘Class 3 sung a song in parts very well. It was great to see such enthusiasm’. Headteacher Observation 2005
