Physical Education

We believe in promoting a healthy lifestyle through physical activity. All children take part in gymnastics, games and dance lessons. Key Stage 2 children also attend weekly swimming classes for a term and during the summer take part in athletics activities.

All children receive at least 2 hours of high quality PE each week, one of these led by a qualified coach

Both girls and boys are encouraged to take part in a variety of team sports: such as tag rugby and football. We try to nurture a positive attitude to competitive sports, without losing sight of good sportsmanship.

We support cluster sporting events throughout the year during which the children are encouraged to compete at their own level.

We also offer extracurricular PE activities including football, and basketball.

The children in years 5 and 6 visit Longtown for a residential activity holiday.
